Section 16-1-37

Issuance of high school diplomas to certain honorably discharged veterans.

The State Superintendent of Education may award a standard high school diploma to any honorably discharged veteran who began high school between 1937 and 1946, was scheduled to graduate between 1941 and 1950, and was inducted into the United States Armed Forces between September 16, 1940, and December 31, 1946, before completing the necessary high school graduation requirements. Upon the recommendation of the State Superintendent of Education, the State Board of Education shall develop criteria and guidelines necessary for the implementation of this section.
