Section 17-2-11United States senators.
At the general election to be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1978, and each six years thereafter, a senator of and from the State of Alabama in the Senate of the United States shall be elected by the people for a term of six years, beginning on the third day of January next after his election. At the general election to be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1980, and every six years thereafter, a senator of and from the State of Alabama in the Senate of the United States shall be elected by the people for a term of six years, beginning on the third day of January next after his election.
