Section 17-2-6Justices of the Supreme Court.
A chief justice and two associate justices of the Supreme Court shall be elected on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1976, and every six years thereafter; three associate justices shall be elected on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1978, and every six years thereafter, and three associate justices shall be elected on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1980, and every six years thereafter. The justices of the Supreme Court shall hold office for a term of six years and until their successors are elected and qualified.
