Section 30-4-88(Repealed effective January 1, 2000) Enforcement of duties of support generally; jurisdiction of enforcement proceedings.(a) All duties of support are enforceable by petition, irrespective of the relationship between the obligor and obligee. Jurisdiction of all proceedings hereunder shall be vested in the juvenile court. (b) A petition on behalf of a minor obligee may be brought by a person having legal custody of the minor without appointment as guardian. (c) In any proceeding under this article, the court may order interrogatories or depositions to be taken within or without the state, pursuant to the provisions of law applicable to such court. (d) The court, whether acting as an initiating state or a responding state, may direct the district attorney or some other prosecuting attorney for the state to represent the plaintiff in any proceeding under this article. (e) Participation in any proceeding under this article shall not confer upon any court jurisdiction of any of the parties thereto in any other proceeding.
