Section 6-9-95Levying officer to provide sustenance for unsold livestock.
When livestock is levied on and remains in the hands of the officer for sale, he must provide sustenance therefor, and it is his duty to hire out or employ the horses or other stock, if practicable, for their support. If unable to do so, he must be allowed by the court a reasonable compensation for their support, which he may retain from the proceeds of the sale.
